   Name LADO [‘lʌ:do] has much more than one meaning. In fact, there are a lot of them.

First of all – it is two notes – «La» & «Do» (from the Italian).

«Lad» [lʌd]  is also a musical term in music theory. Mode and tonality are analogous to it in English. 

In Ukrainian language the word «Lad» means the order, the state when everything is done properly, coherence and consistency in actions, and organization.

Also Lado (Lad, Lyado) – a Slavic God of merriment, marriage and well-being of the family.

In Kievan Rus close and dear person, beloved husband or wife was called by a word Lado (or Lada [‘lʌ:dʌ]) which is similar to honey or sweetheart.

For the first time we used name «LADO»  in 2010 for our string quartet. 

And since next year we started to cooperate with such World famous companies as Oceania Cruises and Princess Cruise Line and became a part of live Entertainment Team on board cruise ships. We enjoed working in different well-know orchestras and ensembles of  Ukraine, but we liked an idea of our own small and cute band much more! 

Also we consider the special requests from our listeners every time, expand our musical repertoire as well as improve our professional skills.

Since 2015 we created different groups (Violin Duo, String Trio) and decided to keep the name «LADO Strings»  as it became popular among Entertainment onboard different Cruise Lines.

We also reworked and adapted our vast string quartet repertuar for any kind of the LADO Strings band, so you can always request for your favorite ones and we will play it for you with pleasure.

In 2015 we joined Entertainment Team on Carnival Cruise Lines as LADO Strings Duo.

On board different Cruise Ships (such as Oceania Regatta & Notica, Princess & Carnival Ships, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines) we had luck to meet a lot of nice, amazing, great and fantabulous people among passengers and crew, got new friends all over the world!
